The journey is the reward

I met this guy who always seemed like a shrewd. He used to give a smile to people but one can only see mean person in him – a calculative with a villain smile.
As I started reading this person and knowing this person I felt I am peeling the skin of onion…! As I was peeling I see a better person inside.
A time came when I caught him on a gun point base asking to reveal what he is in real!
Tough one though yet I was able to get the inside of this person. A person who is kind in his heart and yet keeps a shrewdness on his face which seems like is needed specially in today’s mean world. I guess we all will agree on this as why show our weak side so as to let others take advantage of it? No! Even animals, insects, birds and plants have unique ways to hide themselves from their enemies so why not with humans.
Other day I met another person who was helping a lady to lift her load of groceries and I felt such a nice guy. I admired the person’s nature. I met him and introduced myself and said you are a kind person that you are helping the lady.
He introduced himself to me and thanked and walked away.

“Humans were not created to be trusted.”

The other day I saw this person again in the mall. He was helping another person and I was amazed only to realize later when the person told me he was helping because he thinks that person has some skills which will be good for his business and he wants his business to do profit.

I walked away from there thinking which is true? The one who is shrewd and kind from inside or the one who is kind yet thinks first for his own benefits?

Life is simple yet we make it so complicated that we trouble God with all sorts of questions and reasons.

There are two types of people – those who come into a room and say. “Well, here I am!” and those who come in and say. “Ah, there you are.”

It is very difficult to analyse or judge people.. If we keep judging people, we will not be able to love them…

Anyway, most ppl are selfish, thats what i learned from life (maybe i am wrong), and do for some ulterior motive. Even if people wants to earn some grace and do a good deed, isn’t that also a selfish motive :)

    A very thoughtful post….

Good post Dawn. People are different inside and outside. We have to take the good things from them and leave the rest alone coz change is hard such people.

    Hi,

It is a good post. Yep people are different, I feel we just have to accept the way they are. If we ask like – Why are they like that, the answer is simple. They are like that coz they are that.

Everybody will have an external shield, which tells the world they are what the shield is. Sometimes some people will be so good, they never say NO to anybody, often find it difficult to say YES coz they really wanted to say NO from inside. They just say Yes coz of their external shield. It might be some elder sister in family who sacrifices, or a husband who cannot deny his wife’s selections etc.

Everybody do have strong suits – good or bad, kind or cruel, rigid or soft etc. Better we be aware of our own strong suits and of the people around us, which hides the ‘real’ person inside. These strong suits are the result of some failures, hurt, sorrows, pain in the early life.

If we start noticing it – we will see, how we humans, have wrapped ourselves as a result of some situations in our life. Without knowing to us – How many things matter in life, isn’t it?

    Thanks,
    N

    Really interesting writeup!!
Life is indeed simple. But to move on and reach higher, sometimes we need to complicate it. Both the persons mentioned are not wrong in their approach. It is only their way od dealing with life.
It is like either you take life for a ride or get ready to be taken for one.

It is very hard to judge someone from the outside.some people are really genuine and some are not.

Dawn your post is interesting. With that inside and outside of a person and how they deal with the world that’s cold and tough. I think it’s all about being who you are and being true to self, yet knowing how to “set boundaries” in life. Our world is surrounded by endless negative people(gossip, jealousy…abusive…cheats…violence…etc) and negative things. Know when and how to say No and stay away from that, even though it’s tough. I think that’s what most people cannot do. Because most of us are afraid of rocking the boat. But then, there’s no triumph, without sacrifice.
